The Notebook has physically 2 port USB 2.0 and one port USB 3.0.ls'ed all partitions, including windows/linux bootable USB's, but it wouldn't recognise the filesystem. Now I can't boot up and simply enter grub rescue mode (Had Windows & Linux).
Well, did a silly thing and fiddled with my hard drives (wiping partitions, including boot) before making sure I can access BIOS properly. You are familar with the open firmware method? Is it possible to boot from a usb external drive or stick? But even a USB stick I have been able to get booted from within Open Firmware.Boot the system from the pen drive (use the F10 option to get the boot menu). To run the utility, you will need a Windows 98SE bootable USB pen drive.

A shutdown -> power on cycle doesn't cause devices to work (presumably because of Win 8's fast boot feature), but a full reboot does. I have observed peculiar behavior in the form of USB devices usually not being recognized unless they are plugged in at boot. I have a Clevo P170HM laptop running Windows 8.1 Pro 圆4 edition with Media Center. Please see my Bios setting.I try with different settings but it doesnt help.Also. Cannot normally boot Tails from USB on Clevo N857EK1 I cant normally boot Tails on my laptop. It start freezing when I press button Start (See photo) or when choosing Wi-Fi.
